Mr. Gilbert Cruz, an accomplished violinist/violist, holds a distinguished academic background that includes an Associate of Arts in Fine Arts/Music and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Organizational Leadership from South Texas College. Complementing his musical prowess, he furthered his education by earning a Master of Science in Digital Marketing from Full Sail University and his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Grand Canyon University.
With a rich history in music, Gilbert Cruz has been an active participant in various esteemed music ensembles. Notable among these are the STC String Ensemble, UTB Symphonic Orchestra, OPUS Orchestra, UTRGV Symphony Orchestra, and the LaReDo Music Festival. However, his journey extends beyond performance alone.
Gilbert Cruz's multifaceted career spans several domains. Prior to his most recent roles as the Director of Marketing for SOARD Solutions and current private business owner, he showcased his talents as an drone pilot and an audio/video technician and digital content creator. His expertise was honed during his tenure as the Program Assistant for the Fine and Performing Arts Department at South Texas College. Within this capacity, he contributed to an array of projects, encompassing the recording of live music concerts, audio engineering, graphic design, marketing and documenting events and projects, voice-over productions, and instrumental studio recordings.
Embraced by innovation and technology, Gilbert Cruz embarked on a fresh trajectory in 2021 as a Emerging Technology Simulations Specialist within STC's division of Business, Public Safety, and Technology. In this role, he not only maintained but also curated an advanced VR/AR simulations and Drone lab, solidifying his position at the vanguard of cutting-edge technologies.
Currently Mr. Cruz has embarked on a new journey within the Learning Commons and Open Labs Department within South Texas College as an Open Labs Logistics Manager. Here he not only works directly with the department director to achieve organizational goals and objectives but also manages supervisory staff district wide, logistics of a big department. Here he also gets to embrace his love for technology by researching and implementing new emerging technologies within the Open Labs specialty Lab the Makerspace.
